PlasmaLift is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment targeting wrinkles, loose/crepey skin, skin texture, pigmentation, age spots, and some skin growth/tags. The treatment is performed with a device called a plasma pen. The pen is held above the skin and a tiny plasma arc connects from the tip of the device to the surface of the skin. The targeted skin contracts and is essentially eliminated through sublimation (solid tissue turns into a gas) without any cutting, which results in the tightening and shrinking of skin. A series of tiny brown dots are strategically placed to attain the desired result. The skin around the dot tightens instantly, putting the cells closer together. After the treatment is performed, your skin’s natural healing process then goes into overdrive and encourages your own body to create new fibroblast cells. These cells are responsible for the development of collagen to enhance natural volume and elastin for tighter skin.

Some tightening of the skin will be seen immediately after the treatment, but full results can be seen approximately 8-12 weeks after the treatment. The number of treatments needed per person will vary according to the area being treated, skin laxity, and the individual’s age and response to the treatment. However, most are satisfied with a total of one to three treatments per site. The results of the PlasmaLift are permanent and may be visible for years. It’s important to acknowledge that the aging process is continuous and the skin ages every day after the treatment. This cannot be stopped. The results of this method are permanent, but when we talk about mimic facial lines, (worry lines), these may recur quickly because muscles are stronger than the skin and, consequently, the lines recur. Average results last from 18 months to 3 years. For optimum results more than one treatment may be needed with a minimum of 6 weeks between treatments for the same area.
The most common treatment areas are Forehead, Frown Lines (11s) Crows Feet, Eyelids, Under Eyes, Lips, Smoker Lines, Nasolabial Folds (Smile Lines), Jowls, Skin Tags, Age Spots, Cosmetic Mole Reduction, and Acne Scars. PlasmaLift is a great solution for tightening crepey skin.

Downtime and pain from this treatment is minimal. You won’t even need over the counter pain relievers after your treatment. The worst pain to be expected is similar to a new sunburn. I typically recommend that my customers give themselves 3 days of privacy to allow swelling to subside. You can expect to have some redness and swelling immediately after the treatment and for around 3 days. In this case swelling is a great thing. It proves that your body is reacting and working hard to repair the controlled trauma. The tiny brown dots will be seen where the individual micro dots have been placed. Once the redness of the swelling subsides the appearance of the dots lightens in color and starts to naturally dry up and fall off on their own around 5-7 days. The dots should be left to fall off on their own as they are protecting the skin underneath. All needed aftercare products will be provided for you in a kit before you leave. After the dots have shed you are welcome to return to your own skin care routine with a few precautions on more aggressive chemicals. Sun protection must be applied to protect the healing skin.
